Bethan Roberts

Bethan has been teaching 8-week mindfulness courses since 2008 including Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Finding Peace in a Frantic World (FPIFW) and ‘Mindfulness in the Workplace’ (a Bangor University curriculum) mainly within workplace contexts to a variety of organisations in the UK including the Office for National Statistics, the Intellectual Property Office, Police Authorities, Members of the Welsh Government and their support staff, Museum Wales, and Marie Curie Hospice staff. She also teaches ‘One-to-One Mindfulness’ courses on behalf of the Mindfulness Network.

In 2015, Bethan joined the Core Training Team for the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice (CMRP) at Bangor University and taught on the Masters in ‘Mindfulness-Based Approaches’ there until 2022. She was the lead on the MBSR teacher trainings at the CMRP for six years up until 2025 and runs courses on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion for mindfulness teachers. She has also taught MBCT courses on behalf the Sussex Mindfulness Centre for several years.

Bethan initially trained in teaching MBSR at the Center for Mindfulness, University of Massachusetts, USA before undertaking trainings with the CMRP at Bangor University, the Mindfulness Association and more recently with the Mindfulness Center at Brown University, USA.

Bethan is also a Mental Health First Aid Instructor and an i-act instructor (which is an accredited workplace mental health and wellbeing programme) and delivers bespoke training to workplaces.

Personal Practice

Bethan has been practising meditation since 2002 and has attended regular silent meditation retreats in the UK and abroad, including a month-long silent retreat led by Rob Nairn in South Africa in 2007. She has also been on several yoga retreats since 2012.
